How I went from eating 5000 calories to 2500 with little effort
It’s a simple as adding more vegetables and green juices to your diet!
At one point in my life I was counting my calories, and I was eating about 5000 calories every day. I was working out a lot to build muscle, and although I was increasing my strength, I just didn't feel good and I had constant stomach aches. That's why I decided to start looking for ways to lose weight and that's when I found the Ketogenic diet in 2014.
For those who don't know, the purpose of the Ketogenic diet is to enter the state of Ketosis. In this state, your body starts using fat as energy instead of carbohydrates. To enter this state, you must remove carbohydrates almost completely from your diet. These are the percentages of macronutrients I was following.
10% Carbohydrates 40% Protein 50% Fats
As you can see, this was not easy to follow. I had to eat a lot of salmon, avocado, olive oil and I couldn't eat many fruits and zero rice, beans, bread, etc. There had to be an easier way to lose weight!
That's when I decided to incorporate more vegetables, because they're the most nutritious and low calorie foods on the planet. I could eat a whole bag of spinach and it would only be 80 calories! Now I was eating the same amount of food, but when I counted my calories... I was eating only 2,500 calories!
Then, I added green juices with palo azul tea into my diet to supplement my overall wellness. They help me to satisfy my hunger because they are less than 100 calories and they are very satiating.
So that's how I went down from eating 5000 calories to 2500 calories a day. You don't have to stop eating the foods you like, just add vegetables to your diet and you'll see that you fill up faster and you'll feel much better.
