One of the things we love most about palo azul is how versatile it is because of its mild flavor. Whether you're looking for a cozy evening tea, a refreshing iced drink, or a botanical blend filled with flavor, palo azul pairs beautifully with a variety of herbs and spices.

We have mixed it with just about everything you can imagine...coffee, cacao, green juices, fruit juices, lemon, honey, maple syrup, orange peels, coconut water, milk, rose water, protein shake, beer, hard liquor, etc. The blue disappears with anything acidic, but you still get the benefits.

Potions That Stay Blue

These are our favorite recipes that stay blue. Less is more, too much of certain ingredients can make the blue disappear!

Forest Potion: Palo azul, cinnamon, rosemary, jasmine, maple syrup

This earthy and comforting blend reminds us of walking through a forest after a fresh rain. The rosemary adds a fragrant herbal note while the cinnamon and maple syrup create a naturally warming sweetness.

Garden Potion: Palo azul, mint, lemongrass, honey

Bright, refreshing, and perfect served hot or iced. Mint and lemongrass create a cooling herbal experience that pairs wonderfully with palo azul's smooth flavor.

Dream Potion: Palo azul, chamomille, blue lotus, vanilla, lavender, agave

A floral and calming blend that feels like sipping a cup of serenity. This is one of our favorite evening recipes and makes a wonderful companion to journaling, reading, or winding down before bed.

Blue Power Potion: Palo azul, blue spirulina, blue lotus, butterfly pea

It's not going to look fluorescent blue, but it will be blue indeed and this one is packed with some of nature's most powerful polyphenols. 

Non-Blue Potions

Energy Potion: Palo azul, coffee or tea, coconut water, ginseng, maple syrup

When in need of caffeine, simply combine it with palo azul tea! We use this one whenever we have a long day ahead and it's always a treat sipping this delicious elixir. 

Focus Potion: Palo azul, Lion's Mane, cordyceps, green tea or matcha, rosemary, honey

Combined with the smooth hydration of palo azul, it's the perfect companion for work, studying, creative projects, or planning your next adventure.

Chocolate Potion: Palo azul, cacao nibs or powder, vanilla, maple syrup

It's a healthy hot chocolate with a magical twist. The smooth earthiness of palo azul pairs surprisingly well with rich cacao. Some customers have even told us that palo azul's flavor is chocolatey!

Golden Potion: Palo azul, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, honey

Warm, spicy, and comforting. This blend combines some of nature's most beloved botanicals into a rich and flavorful tea.

Citrus Potion: Palo azul, lemon, orange juice or peels, hibiscus, honey
